Presentations
On this page you can find a free repository of powerpoint presentations and text files for use in supporting science education. There are two main sets of presentations here. Firstly, there is my set of presentations countering the arguments of young-Earth creationist Kent Hovind. And secondly there is my lecture series entitled “Understanding Science”.
——– Countering Hovind ——–
The subjects in these slides were initially taken from a reading of Kent Hovind‘s enormous 6,016 slide Powerpoint corpus. Yes, I actually read them all. I believe you can get most of them from this web page, though be warned that they’re huge files!
For those who are interested in the old versions of these files, which were first published in 2008, they are available inone big zip file here.
The first step should be downloading and reading the Overview files below, but then feel free to download any of the other files in any order. Each presentation comes with a complete transcript of the talk, as well as the original Powerpoint file. I have provided these in .ppt format, for compatibility with older versions of Microsoft Office.
