Today’s card – Sylvia Browne
August 9th, 2008 Posted in Game CardsToday’s card is for everyone’s favourite psychic medium and convicted multiple fraudster, Sylvia Browne. Sylvia is also extremely adept at mimicking the favourite magician’s trick of cold reading. I say ‘mimicking’, not actually performing, because if she were actually cold reading all her guests and just lying to them about their dead relatives, then that would make her a despicable fraud.
Sylvia is also known for telling the desperate parents of a missing child that their son had been taken away by a mad Hispanic man, tortured and murdered. Those parents then discovered, several years of painful mourning later, that their son was actually alive and well. Again, if Sylvia were just guessing then that would make her a truly disgusting excuse for a human being. But, of course, she has mystic powers, so that’s okay.

Once again, Sylvia only scores 6/10 on craziness because she knows exactly what she’s doing and because she has very wisely totally failed to follow through on her agreement with James Randi to compete for his $1m paranormal challenge – a challenge that she would certainly fail.
